Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Symptoms are grouped into four main categories: re-experiencing (intrusive memories), avoidance, negative changes in thinking and mood, and changes in physical and emotional reactions (hyperarousal).
Not everyone who experiences trauma develops PTSD, and not everyone with PTSD has the same symptoms. This checker helps you understand which symptom categories may be present and provides information about each one.
